Moyale beat Wanderers, set up Presidential Cup final date with Bullets

Moyale  will meet Nyasa Big Bullets in the Presidential Cup final after a hard-fought win over Mighty Be Forward Wanderers at Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday.

The Mzuzu-based soldies  sealed a  Presidential Cup final appearance courtesy of a first half Kuda Muyaba strike.

Muyabe strike in the 24 th minute after receiving a pass from the right, without hestitation fired in to the net.

Wanderers mounted late pressure after bring ing in Nigerian  Amos Bello for Jimmy Zakazaka,and there were a few anxious moments for Moyale in stoppage time but they deservedly held on to advance to final.

Moyale officials on the bench greeted the final whistle by punching the air in celebration after a well deserved win.

But it was a different story for the Wanderers technical panel,   assistant coach Elia Kananji, team manager Steve Madeira and the players were conspicuously grumpy.

“We are disappointed,” Madeira said.

“Moyale had fought the battle well and congratulations to them.”

And Kananji commented: “Yes we accept the defeat as our players misses a lot of chances especially in the second half.”

Moyale coach Colins Nkuna said  his team had been “worthy winners” of  the semi-final tie.

The final is scheduled for July 16 at Civo Satdium in Lilongwe, according to Football Association of Malawi (FAM) competitions manager Gomezgani Zakazaka.
