Moyale Barracks had a fair share of possession in the first half while Blue Eagles created their own chances in the second half but again failed to hit the back of Moyale Barracks’ net.

Gastin Simkonda, Deus Mkutu, Lloyd Njaliwa and Clifford Fukizi were seen orchestrating purposeful play in a desperate attempt to get a goal throughout the first half but Eagles’ goalkeeper John Soko did a commendable job in goals to deny the soldiers any goal.

Five minutes into the second half, captain for Blue Eagles, Micium Mhone, received a decent ball on the right and made a marvellous run towards the 18 metre box only to shoot over the cross bar.

There was nothing to write about until referee Mercy Kayira blew the final whistle.

Blue Eagles goalkeeper, John Soko, was voted man of the match.

Speaking to Nyasa Times after the match, Blue Eagles Technical Director, Christopher Sibale, said his charges could not convert the chances they created.

“It’s a day of draw. We can’t blame anybody. We noted something and told the players not to keep the ball in the second half,” said Sibale.

Moyale Barracks coach, Collins Mkuna, said his charges played well in the first half but failed to score.

“We didn’t play our game in the second half. This is an assignment for me. We need to work hard in training from Tuesday so that we get maximum points in the next game,” explained Mkuna.

Blue Eagles is still on position 3 with 40 points from 22 games while Moyale Barracks is on position 9 with 28 points from 21 games. The Eagles face Mzuni FC this Sunday at the same venue.
