CRNC Secretary General, John Muhajiri Wednesday disclosed in Lilongwe that the games are expected to throw off on Friday from 9 am at Gateway netball court in the capital city.

He said Pool A teams would start the game and will be followed by Pool B teams in that order until the end of the game.

The Secretary General said the opener would involve Blue Eagles and Mafco and the second game would be between Lionesses and Dowa Police.

He said all the games would be played at one netball court to enable netball followers to watch games at one venue and allow scouts to spot new talents during the games.

“In order to catch up with time there would be no normal quarters in the pool games. The games would be played in two halves of 15 minutes each,” Muhajiri outlined the format of the tournament.

He explained that the fixture has lined up 12 games for Friday and playing time for each game would be determined by the umpires on particular game.

” We are appealing to netball fraternity in Lilongwe and to all central region districts to come in their  large numbers to watch the games in appreciation to what Mpico Gateway has done to netball development in the region,” Muhajiri pointed out.

The Secretary said on Saturday the final event would start with a parade from Lilongwe Community Centre ground to Gateway shopping mall from 8 am.

He said all participating teams would be involved in the parade and the trophy would be on display.

Muhajiri said the parade is starting at 8 am in order to attract wider participation of the event and appears to all netball fraternity to join them in their number.

He disclosed that Joyce Mvula one of the prominent netballer in the region would be part of the parade.

“Mvula is a product of 2016 Mpico Top 8 tournament and has accepted our invitation to do the parade on Saturday in solidarity with the efforts the sponsors are making,” Muhajiri added.
