Malawi’s former president Bakili Muluzi on Saturday joined his members of village at Kapoloma, Ntaja in Machinga district for an Eid el-Fitr after the end of Ramadhan and called for Muslims to show love and co-exist peacefully at all times.
Muluzi called on Muslims to continue praying and submit themselves to Allah (God) and embrace peaceful co-existence in the overall interest of the society.
The former president who governed Malawi from 1994 to 2004, appealed to Muslims to maintain peace and live in harmony with people of other religion.
`Islam is a religion that preaches peace. Let us all learn to leave in peace with everybody in our working place, environment and everywhere we find ourselves,,” Muluzi stressed.
He appealed to Muslims to fear Godand to always obey his commandments.
“Know that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom,” he said.
Muluzi also encouraged parents to send their children to school and allow girls to complete their education before entering marriage.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
