Murdered evangelist Wame laid to rest: Police dismiss mob justice video clip on suspect
A murdered evangelist, Shadreck Wame who was found in a pool of blood on Friday, was laid to rest in Salima on Monday before thousands of mourners from all walks of lives.
Nkhoma Synod former secretary general Reverend Davdson Chifungo, said Wame was an exceptional preacher who was loyal and faithful before God.
He said Wame did not believe in prosperity gospel but salvation.
“We will remember him as a faithful servant of God,” said Chifungo.
Meanwhile, Police have dismissed as not true a video that is circulating in social media claiming that a house maide who is suspected to have stabbed the presbeterian preacher to death was killed by the mob.
Police dismissed the video, saying the suspect has not been murdered.
The evenagelist’s murder signifies security lapse in the country, a development which is a major setback to investors and economic development, according to Transformation Alliance political pressure group.
Wame was born a Presbyterian in 1944, baptized in 1962 and became a born again Christian in 1966.
He is survived by nine children.
