Mwanamvekha, Malopa get the boot
Malawi’s new President Joyce Banda has fired Joseph Mwanamvekha as Secretary to the Treasury and also sacked Director General of state broadcaster MBC, Bright Malopa.
Mwanamvekha was appointed secretary to treasury in 2009 replacing Radson Mwadiwa.
He was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for one of leading commercial banks, the Malawi Savings Bank (MSB) where is feared there has been massive corporate collusion.

The President has also appointed veteran broadcaster Benson Tembo, as the new Director General of MBC.
Tembo replaces the out-going Malopa who becomes the third casualty of the post Bingu wa Mutharika era.
The first casualty of Peter Mukhito , fired as Inspector General of Police barely a day after Banda assumed office as Malawi’s Head of State, following the death of Mutharika on April 5 due to a cardiac arrest.
