Mwenifumbo opts for UTM and not MCP in Tonse alliance

Former Parliamentarian for Karonga Central Constituency, Frank Mwenifumbo has joined UTM Party of State vice-president Saulos Chilima on whose ticket he wants to contest for in the impending by-elections.

Mwenifumbo will be using UTM ideologies in his campaign for the position which he will face Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
The sear fell vacant following the death of Dr Cornelius Mwalwanda of MCP.
MCP and UTM are in Tonse alliance led government.
Mwenifumbo joined UTM after resigning from Alliance for Democracy (Aford).
Welcomed by UTM publicity secretary Chidanti Malunga, Mwenifumbo said together with his group decided to join UTM because it is the only party that has great vision for Malawi.
“Some who have little knowledge in politics will say I am a political prostitute. However, a great politician will always follow the voice of his people. If my people see a great future in UTM who am I to do the negative? Apart from that, I and UTM have the same vision and love to Malawians hence the decision,” said Mwenifumbo.
In his welcoming remarks, Malunga described Mwenifumbo as a good leader with vast experience in politics.
According to him, UTM is lucky to see such kind of people joining the party.
“Don’t be cheated, each and every party will be boasting for receiving politicians like Mwenifumbo and his colleagues. In parliament when Mwenifumbo speaks the whole house keep quite. And as the party we are very happy for this day,” said Chidanti.
Mwenifumbo has been in all parties including DPP, PP and contested on UDF ticket in 2019 presidential elections as running mate to Atupele Muluzi.
He is expected to compete with Rose Nthakomwa in the UTM primary election.
MCP is the only party that can restore the lost glory in the Northern Region. Surely Mwenifumbo is a spent force and cannot opt for MCP because he is controversially in love with Stacy Msungama and is mad about this woman. The Msungamas are in MCP and he would not be comfortable with azilamu akeyo. People in Karonga Central should seriously think about this Uladi Mussa and Brown Mpinganjira of the North. He was all parties and wants to soil UTM. Zanu izo.

Mwenifumbo will surely win this seat on UTM ticket. But that will be the beginning of trouble in MCPUTM alliance. MCP will feel aggrieved because this was their seat. If not careful utm will gain more and more seats from them. The best way forward is that mcp and utm should sign an agreement where there was already a utm mp and the seat falls vacant, then mcp should not contest, and vice-versa. They should all contest only if the seat belonged to dpp or udf, otherwise adanapo zimenezi

Mr Mwenifumbo please please Buka ku kaya ukalime or ukatime ngombe .UTM if it was me I wouldn’t have opened a door for this Gold digger.
Please don’t offer him any position in the party cos he is a non conformance product.

Tonse alliance should trade carefully in karonga especially in this Benghazi constituency…… Yes we all know that MCP and UTM are stand alone political parties but it will be self destructing when UTM and MCP supporters start badmouthing each other when they are running the Tonse alliance government together… So my advice is that it would have been helpful if one party between MCP and UTM pulls out of this contest…….but if both parties want to contest then the campaign should be based on the competency of the individuals competing rather than based on political party policies because this can… Read more »

So what? But they are still together. What should never happen is not to allow DPP Thievery Party bouncing back to power.
