This follows the delay by the University Council to revise and rescind its decision of firing non-student players in the team in the  forthcoming season citing financial challenges as the main cause.

However, the team will go ahead with its pre-season preparations starting with trialists on Tuesday 12th February 2019 while the rest of the player join others next week.

“We are starting our preparations on Tuesday with trialists and the the old players will join in next week” said Club Chairman Albert Mtungambera Harawa.

However, Harawa send an SOS in calling upon well wishers to assist them with food and finances to assist in running the affairs of the club as they await Mzuzu University Council decision on whether it will stick to its earlier decision to expel all non-student players or have the decision reversed.

“We appeal all those who can assist us with food and cash for accommodation  because for the time being we will be doing everything on our own” he said.

But Harawa assured all Mzuni supporters that on the pitch, everything us intact.

After an impressive 2018 soccer season which saw them finishing on position eight, the team will for the first time feature in the Airtel Top 8.
