Mzuni frustrates Bullets to a goalless draw: Malawi TNM Super League

Nyasa Big Bullets  and Mzuni United played to a 0-0 draw in the TNM Super League  clash played at Mulanje Park Stadium on Saturday  afternoon.

Nyasa Bullets frustrated

The Peoples team  were out of the blocks early and it needed a great save from the students to prevent Nelson Kangunje  from opening the score for the home  team.

More attacks from Bullets resulted in Mzuni’s goal custodian  again having to punch clear, with Brighton Munthali  proving to be threatening once more.

Mzuni then had a chance to score in the 20th minute , but their striker  pushed his attempt wide and so, too, did his teammate, a few minutes later.

Stung by Mzuni’s enterprise, Bullets finally got into some sort of rhythm and created a few opportunities of their own.

Kangunje  failed to make the most of his chance, while good interplay between Precious Phiri and Munthali  also caused some uncertainty in the students  defence.

Bullets  side, though, finished the first half in the ascendancy and were unlucky not to score when Kangunje with only the keeper to beat shoot wide.

The second half kicked off in spectacular fashion as  both teams pushed for an early goal but to no avail.

Spurred into action, the students side responded with two inviting chances, but worstful striker  fired over the bar and, soon after, their left midfielder  header was well saved by Bullets  keeper.

Bullets continued to press, with  Fischer Kondowe  shooting wide.

But, with neither team able to break the deadlock, goalless was the result.
