Mzuzu Orange Partners committee elected

The People’s Party has elected an interim 15 member Mzuzu Orange Partners Committee during a meeting held at Chenda Hotel in Mzuzu on Wednesday.

The elections were conducted by Thomas Malopa, who is the interim acting coordinator for Orange Partners in the northern region and Reverend Dr Ian Longwe, a member of the party’s executive
committee.

Orange Partners is a youth movement with the People’s Party which was formed to realize the party’s vision of uplifting the country’s youth so that they start participating actively in running the affairs of the country.

The Orange Partners comprises of business people, technicians, artisans and professionals among others.

The Mzuzu Committee is headed by Leonard Njikho popularly known as ‘Uncle Jose’ as chairperson, deputized by Lusungu Banda. Secretary is Dennis Mhone, Vice is Vilanji Nkhwazi.

Gift Luhanga is the purse keeper with Ronald Mkandawire as Vice. Lapken Thindwa is the organizing secretary with Lekeni Chanthunya as vice. Julius Mithi has been tasked with publicity.

Committee members are: Annie Ibrahim, Nagis Ibrahim, Siphiwe Mvula, Paul Nthambazale, Harriet Mtika and Vincent Kamlepo Kalua.

In his acceptance speech Njikho said he had great respect for Party’s President Mrs Joyce Banda.

He also said he going to make the Mzuzu Orange partners vibrant saying to do that he will need the support and advice of all members.
