Ndefeyo entertainment as a record label has over the years released top selling urban music from Malawi’s cream of urban music – Trumel, Bucci, Maskal, Piksy, Armstrong Kalua, Patience Namadingo, Mada Ngoleka.

The new partnership allows Ndefeyo entertainment to promote their artists’ music on Mvelani.com reaching a wider community of music lovers across the world.

In return Mvelani.com will pay royalties to Ndefeyo Entertainment for the plays recorded by their artist on their online and mobile platform globally.

The royalties will be payable in USD to hedge against fluctuations in the local currency, a statement from the entertainment company made available to Nyasa Times reads.

“The deal allows Mvelani.com expand our music offering to hundreds of our users who are accessing our website on a daily basis across the globe. This means we will be better placed to help our users listen to and discover new and old songs as we are expanding the content offered on our platforms,” reads the statement.

Mvelani.com went live on 23 January, 2015 and aims to create a space where every song recorded or produced from Sub-Africa is organised and available through desktop and mobile devices.

Explaining the motivation behind the deal Mvelani.com Founder Dumisani Kapanga said: “Ndefeyo Entertainment is an established company on the Malawi urban local scene, since they launched they have changed the urban music game in Malawi with successful artists. I am excited to work and help them promote their artists and build a viable long-term partnership that is beneficial to both of our companies”.

“We are in discussion and in the process of obtaining licences for Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya, with this expansion it means Artists under Ndefeyo Entertainment will even get heightened exposure to these markets. I have known Ken and Khumbo (Founders of Ndefeyo Entertainment) for a while and they have done a remarkable job building a formidable company so I am extremely ecstatic to work with them”

Over the next few weeks, Mvelani.com will get access to Ndefeyo’s music catalogue that will be added to their platform.

Ken Limwame, Ndefeyo Entertainment’s co-Founder who is also part of the HipHop duo Biriwiri currently working on their comeback album commenting on the deal added.

“Ndefeyo’s goal is to help our artist produce good content that is not only popular in Malawi but also has an international reach. We are committed to exploiting ways of achieving these

“Important  goals and ready to work with anyone able to contribute .  We had to work with Mvelani.com because they share our vision of promoting Malawian music and we believe it’s our way of not only diversifying our revenue generation capabilities for our Artists but also reaching a wider and international fun base”
