I never asked to join DPP – Mvula
Politician Humphrey Mvula has said he has no intentions of joing the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) that has allegedly been courting him.
The former United Democratic Front (UDF) director of research and self-proclaimed political analyst said he was dismayed that his name is appearing on a list of recycled politicians that DPP is considering to either approve to join the party or reject them.
Mvula clarified to Nyasa Times that he never considered joining DPP.
“I have never asked ti join DPP or any party sicne I resigned from the only party that I have ever belonged to, the UDF,” Mvula said.
“I resigned from UDF on 7/6/2012 and since then I have been a political and social commentator,” he clarified.
He added: “Yes I have carried various political researcg assignments for different people or organisations as a paid job nothing more.”
Nonetheless, Mvula said he will return to front line politics next year.
“I may join active politics later in 2017, for now I am a political commentators and a soccer analyst,” saif the former Shire Bus Lines CEO and ex- chairman of Mighty Wanderers FC.
Mvula said he is comfortable being a political analyst and is yet to appreciate a party with national ideologies.
