Ibrahim Njauju, spokesperson of the family said the slow pace of the investigations into the murder of the number three strongman at ACB worries the family.

The family is the latest to push for quick investigations into the murder which shocked the nation.

“We are urging the state to speed up the investigations so that we know the truth, we know who killed our brother and for what reason,” said Ibrahim.

He said the family still mourns Issah whom he said was very helpful in the family and always sought peace whenever there was trouble.

Police spokesperson James Kadadzera said the law enforcers are working round the clock to find the killers of Njauju.

He said the family and the nation should be patient as investigations can sometimes take long.

Njauju was found dead on July 4 2015 with his body half-buried near Lilongwe River and his Toyota Hilux double-cabin vehicle burnt to ashes behind the presidential villas in Lilongwe.

Postmortem results showed that he was shot twice in the neck and chest before he was buried near Lilongwe River.

Njauju, 49, came from Mangochi and was a devout Moslem.

It is feared that his death was the work of regime thugs ACB is investigating a number of high-profile cases that include Cashgate where billions of kwacha were stolen from government.

Some people implicated in the theft have been convicted while others are still answering cases in court.

killing of people like njaunju can be very difficult to investigate considering that he was one of the heads of a critical organization ACB ,,,,,an organization that is suppose to help the nation arrest all people who compromised the sit of Malawi government,,,, capital hill,in the infamous cashgate…. so those involved have done everything to subbotage justice. but the question is……why others in the. as same ACB are not murdered if ACB is indeed a threat to cashgaters,,,,,, what was special with njaunju for him only to be targeted. ,,,,,,,police should investigate what is called office politics of ACB on… Read more »

I thought killing of government was finished egen Malawi became democratic State. I was wrong it has just Started. In Malawi workers live with fear more now than during One party system. During One party system they were afraid to talk politics, to be against government. To Day are afraid to do the job right. Instead to protect those who are corrupted. If not u end like Nyauji. If this Case was normal Case it could not Take Long to find who killed Nyauji. The person or persons who killed him knew all about his movement that Day. It was… Read more »

The issue of Chasowa and the July 20 deaths was a campaign issue against DPP in the 2014 elections. Why didn’t these issues help the other parties to defeat the DPP? Why didn’t all the mud smeared on DPP not swerve the supporters of DPP to the extent of not voting for it?

You writing is shallow and cheap. You mean Chasowa was not murdered. And that 20 people were not shot by government agents? Do you see how shallow you are. In 2914 you were not choosing who killed or not killed Chasow and 20 people. Being elected does not mean a party is clean. Evil and corrupt parties do win elections. You may wish to know that for police to shoot to kill that order can come from State President only. IG cant give that order. Take a pause and suppose one or two of the victims were your family members.… Read more »

Please come down. Its a pity to tee you that in some cases the killers remain unidentified for ever. For examples the killer of John Chilembwe. However with the help of God the truth will come out since we are under the sun.
