Nomads seek Moyale revenge as Escom coaches are on tight rope

As the k15 million Standard Bank Cup rolls into the return matches on Saturday, Mighty Wanderers have vowed to upset the tables as they face Moyale Barracks in Mzuzu in the return match of the knockout stage.

The Nomads lost 3-0 in their first match in Nchalo and a victory is a must for them.

The Lali-Lubani boys are required to score four times without any reply for them to progress through to the semi-finals.

Mighty Wanderers team Manager Mac Hodges Chunga said they are geared up for the return match to upset the tables.

“If they managed to beat us by three goals what can stop us to do the same in Mzuzu?” said Chunga.

Nomads: Seek to upset tables in Mzuzu

His counterpart Nicholas Mhango laughed off Chunga’s claims, saying Moyale are “unstoppable” in Mzuzu and Wanderers should brace for another defeat.

“We will continue where we stopped last week. I am urging all soccer lovers in Mzuzu to come to Mzuzu stadium in large numbers to witness the downfall of Wanderers, “he stressed.

Mhango says his side must be on their guard a in the return match, despite holding a first-leg lead.

Moyale coach is demanding full concentration from his team as they look to finish the job.

“We need to be careful and make sure we’re fully focused. We can’t afford to relax,” he said.

However, led by midfielder Innocent Jere, who has been instrumental for the Nomads, Foster ‘Zagaf’ Namwera and Bongani Kaipa at the back, Anthony Banda and Innocent Dzimbiri in front, Moyale should not write off the Nomads.

“There is always a chance to turn tables,” Chunga said.

In another thriller to be played in Balaka, Escom United will line up against Red Lions in what can be described as the fate for the electricians coaching panel after a run of poor results.

Charles Manda has been warned to win against the Reds or else he will face the chop together with Aubrey Nankhuni and Mac Donald Mtetemera.

It will be a huge mountain for Manda to climb, as they already 1-3 behind the Soldiers.

Red Lions will be basking in the comfort of home ground advantage with the availability of their scoring machine Emmanuel Banda while the electricians will bank their hopes on Noel Amfumu Mkandawire and Chimango Kayira.

In other matches, Blue Eagles will travel to Chitowe to meet Mafco FC as Silver Strikers have a tough assignment to Civo United.
