NWFC nominates 'Kaka' for FAM president

As the countdown to the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) polls on 17 December continues, the National Women’s Football Committee (NWFC) is the latest affiliate to submit their nominations in favour of Henry ‘Kaka’ Chibowa.

According to a Facebook post from NWFC chairperson Suzgo Ngwira,  they have earmarked Chibowa for the post of president to challenge incumbent Walter Nyamilandu Manda.

The NWFC has also nominated Moses Mkandawire and Elijah Kachikuwo for the post of vice president and second vice president respectively.

'Kaka' Chibowa: Nominated

The Facebook post says Ngwira will compete for the executive member post.

FAM’s chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda confirmed to Nyasa Times that they have indeed received NWFC’s nominations.

Nyirenda says they have so far received 8 nominations out of the 12 affiliates for the December 17 polls.

The affiliates who have so far send in their nominations include the  National Youth FootballCommittee(NYFC), Southern Region Football League(SRFL), Central Region Football Committee(CRFC), Beach Soccer, Northern Region Football Committee(NRFC), Northern Region Football League(NRFL) and National Referees Committee.

But the Southern Region Football Committee chairperson Raphael Humba told reporters that they have submitted their nominations in favour of incumbent president Walter Nyamilandu.

The Super league of Malawi(Sulom), Central Region Football League(CRFL) and the National Coaches Committee are yet to submit their nominations.
