Opposition will be there but power and authority has been given to us

For the short time that Jesus Christ spent on this earth, he faced great opposition especially from His own people. It was not the people that He did not know that fought with Jesus Christ, but it was the people that He grew up with and exactly knew that Jesus was the carpenter’s son that chose to oppose Him even though they were able to see the great miracles that He performed.

Accepting Jesus Christ as Your personal Savior attracts opposition from many directions and it is sad that the greatest opposition comes from those that are very close to us. Jesus said in Mathew 10:34 that; “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter inn-law against her mother inn-Law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household”.

This does not necessarily mean that He was going to make people start fighting one another. It actually speaks about opposition as those that save something else other than one True God will always get intimidated by God’s presence as it makes them feel very uncomfortable that they cannot stand it therefore the only way to deal with this is to fight God’s children to stop them.

John 15:18 tells us that Jesus said that if the world hate you, know that it hated me before it hated you.

Jesus knew that we will fight with powers that are too strong for us, that is why though His disciples were His followers and very close to Him, He first gave them power and authority before sending them to do His work. By telling them to not carry anything He wanted them to fully depend on Him, and not on anything else.

It is the same with us now as we sometimes wonder that things looked a little bit better before getting saved than they look now. Just know that now you are carrying fire that is intimidating the powers of darkness therefore the need for you to be strong in the Spirit and to have faith to be able to stand all the powers of darkness(Ephesians 6:16).

There is nothing for us to fear when you are strong in the spirit and you are putting all your trust in Him alone. Our God is faithful and will never allow His name to be embarrassed by allowing the enemy to look victorious. All that you need is to fully depend on Him and He will surely fight all your battles as that power and authority is in you.
