Patricia Kaliati exhibits coaching skills: Wanderers beat Akweni’s team 4-1
Be Forward Wanderers pruned Mulanje West Constituency select 4-1 at Namulenga Football ground at Nkando in Mulanje in a friendly game which was organized by the member of parliament from the area Patricia Kaliati.
Fresh from their 3-0 defeat to Mafco FC the previous day, the Nomads vented their anger on the unfancied side with a changed line-up than the one that lost against soldiers.
In goals, the Nomads featured Nenani Juwayo, while upfront Jimmy Zakazaka partnered Khumbo Ng’ambi. Francisco Madinga and Felix Zulu operated from the wings, while Alfred Manyozo jnr and Ernest Tambe played on the centre.
For the first time, Ibrahim Sadiq played as a left back, while Bongani Kaipa, Foster Namwela and Kondwani Lufeyo were other defenders.
Wanderers coach Yasin Osman made several changes in the second half by introducing the likes of Rafiq Mussa and Julius Kajembe.
Jimmy Zakazaka scored twice, while the other goals came from Khumbo Ng’ambi and Julius Kajembe.
There were light moments during the match, as member of parliament and former minister Patricia Kaliat took over the mantle to coach her side.
Jovial Kaliati could be seen on the touchline doing some pep talks to her players, “Tamakani asadutse Nyerere zikuchepa izi [tight markin plese, the Nomads are our match].”
Be Forward Wanderers sponsors from Japan also watched the game, and at the end of the game they presented some footballs to Mulanje Constituency select side.
In her remarks, Kaliati commended Be Forward Wanderers FC for honoring her invitation.
“We people from Mulanje West Constituency we do not take your visit for granted because you’re a big side and for allowing to play at a bumpy and dusty ground like this one, we appreciate,” said Kaliati, a woman of the people.
Wanderers is the second team to play Mulanje Select at Namulenga ground after Blue Eagles which won 2-1.

Thanks Member of Parliament for Mulanje South West Mrs. Patricial Kaliati for bringing big teams to play at Namulenga Football ground. However, try to find a sponsor to upgrade Namulenga Football Ground to international standards replete with stands, dressing rooms and other facilities. Try to have something more advanced than Blantyre Youth Centre at Namulenga. Next time I am sure Shimizu FC from Japan may decide to play Wanderers on the same venue. Keep it up !! Keep the youth busy with sporting activities at Namulenga!! Their talent would recognised soon or later!!

Kaliati is every smart. She now has more time to spend with her boys and girls in Mulanje. While Chaponda has gone into hiding, Akweni has a different strategy.
