Petra UK wing fundraising Xmas party tickets selling fast

Tickets for People’s Transformation Party (Petra) UK wing Christmas Party to be held on 24th December in Nottingham are fast selling like hotcakes, the organisers have said.

Petra UK wing publicity secretary Fides Jim Kachale said many people from across the UK and Ireland republic are buying tickets for the Christmas Eve party billed as the UK’s Malawian biggest social event.

“I can confirm that there has been high demand for the tickets and that many people are still buying them such that we are about to sell out and therefore I would like to urge those willing to join the frenzy in getting their tickets before it is too late,” said Kachale.

“Wwe had to print more and are still selling fast, those that hadn’t gotten theirs must hurry or they will miss out for we will not sell any tickets at the door,” he said.

Kachale disclosed that apart from Malawians from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland there are also demands for tickets which are going for £10 per person from Malawians living in Ireland Republic and other European countries saying the organisers are humbled by the overwhelming support.

Said Kachale: “When we were planning for this party we never envisaged that we could attract levellers and merrymakers from as far as Ireland Republic, but it is heartening that Malawians from across the UK and several other European countries such as Germany, Sweden and France have come out with their support to attend the party.”

The publicist said since an article was published on Nyasa Times about the party the organisers have received calls from Malawian nationals from Germany, Sweden and France apart from those from with the UK asking for tickets.

“We promise more fireworks and it will it will be one of such great memorable occasions in one’s lifetime. There are lots of goodies and surprises. This is pure entertainment at its best. We would like to show the world that Petra UK is a force to reckon with and prove that Malawians are so organised and united when they are happy,” said Kachale.

The party ill be held in Nottingham on Christmas Eve at Hyson Green Youth Club Centre behind Hyson Green Asda along Terrace Street in (NG7 6ER) from 8:00pm till late and will attract top Malawian DJs who among them includes DJ Jozey (Joseph Chilipula) Easy O and DJ Mafenyetsera and other top African and British DJ’s and MCs and an American based Afro DJ Blak Wadada.

Umunthu

Petra UK chapter vice publicity secretary Fred Pondelani in a separate interview added that Petra as party is built on love of mankind and the precincts of humanity adding that the party believes in keystones of unity and love and togetherness.

“We might be a ‘small’ or minority party at the moment but we have a big vision and an enormous passion to make Malawi a better place,” he said.

“ We believe that every journey starts with a single step therefore no matter how long the journey might look, if we walk together we will reach our destination and in this case our destination is to have a Malawi full of love among its people, a free society and a united nation. Nothing is impossible for impossible is nothing,” said Pondelani.

Pondelani said Malawi as a country has lost umunthu (sense of humanity) and that Petra will leave no stone unturned that umunthu is restored back to the motherland.

“Politics seems to have taken centre stage in our country and along the way we have lost umunthu as a nation. It is the restoration of umunthu that we are fighting for and not politics. Malawians have done politics since 1964 and now is the time to focus on regaining our umunthu in order to rebuild our country back to glory,” he said.

Tickets are still available on sale and can be obtained from the following organising committee and party members: Mphatso Mlongoti 07438917571; Thoko Jumbe-Patterson 07405079096; Fides Jim kachale 07786757077; Fred Pondelani 07503683416; Olive Jumbe 07427494286; Mussa Chinguwo 07759064331; Angela ching’amba 07556127580 and Jacinta Mlanga 07826653343 according to Pondelani.

The money realised from the bash will be sent to Malawi to help run the affairs of Petra.
