Piksy ‘shout-out’ to Nde’feyo at MAM Awards was real

In his acceptance speech at the Malawi Music Awards in Lilongwe on Friday night, Afro rapper/singer Piksy gave a shout-out to his former record label, Nde’feyo Entertainment.

This was the first time the artist gave a public salute to Nde’feyo after the two parted ways in September last year.

In an interview on Saturday, Piksy aka CCNB said that the shout-out was genuine.

“Yes that was very real. I know they played a big part,” said Piksy who scooped the Most Popular Ringtone (Best Media) award for his hit song ‘Unamata’.

Added CCNB: “It would be a lie to mention everyone and leave them out.”

He also gave a big mention to fellow urban musicians Tay Grin, Young Kay, Blakjak as well as Airtel Malawi, the company he represents as brand ambassador.

Speaking further, Piksy said the award meant a lot to his music career. He said he now felt bigger and loved; hence “life would be great”.

“Being my first award I wanna dedicate this to my fans. They made it happen, so this goes to them, my fans are the best people. I [also] thank God and everyone who voted,” he said.

With a single album ‘Maso’, Piksy said winning the award was a motivation as he currently works on his second album due for release in a couple of months.

He disclosed: “My new single will be coming out early February. My new album is based on maturity and stability.”

“I have gained a lot of experience and this time I know what my fans want and I that’s exactly what I’ll be giving them,” said CCNB. “My next album will be a banger!”
