Police arrest hospital worker for indecent assault: ‘Touched breasts of 16-year-old schoolgirl’
Malawi Police Service have arrested a 56-year-old hospital worker at Dedza District Hospital on indecent assault charges for allegedly touching breast of a 16-year-old school girl.
Dedza police deputy public relations officer Cassim Manda has identified the hospital servant as Pilirani Save of Kankuza Village in Traditional Authority Kasumbu in Dedza.
He is alleged to have touched breasts of a Form One girl when she visited Dedza district hospital for medical attention.
“The suspect invited the girl into a room he was cleaning, where she thought to be a waiting room, but was surprised when he started touching her breasts,” said Manda.
Manda said the girl reported that she pushed him down and run to the district nursing officer to report the incident.
He said some health workers pleaded with thr girl to keep the incident secret, but she refused.
Manda said the suspects, who has been working as a hospital attendant at the facility since July 1991, will appear in court to answer the charge of indecent assault.
