Police ready to deploy officers to Msundwe, Mpingu – Kadadzera

The Malawi Police Service (MPS) says it is ready to deploy officers to Msundwe and Mpingu police units in Lilongwe if communities there renovate its offices which were destroyed four months ago.

Kadadzera: Let communities renovate the police post in Nsundwe

Kadadzera said in an interview that Police  has not deserted the two places, saying they are also concerned with the absence of the police officers at the units since community members are finding it hard to access security sevices.

He said police still operate in the communities of Msundwe and Mpingu from the parent police stations through patrols and enquiries.

“We do not abandon a place. We are operating from parent police stations to do patrols and enquiries in the area,” he said.

When asked if the Malawi Police Service has any plans to upgrade the two police units into police stations, Kadadzera said it is the responsibility of the community members through their local representatives to take the issue to the parliament.

Msundwe and Mpingu police units have not been functioning for over four months now after the two facilities were set ablaze in post-election violence.

As long as you remain partisan, acting like you are a DPP police wing, Nsundwe and Mpingu people do not need you. To date you have not arrested the big headed Jomo Osman for harassing an MCP supporter but you were quick to arrest Chilima’s aides on flimsy charge of behaving suspiciously. You forget you ran on taxes imposed on every citizen not the DPP idiots only. By the way, DPP idiots are the lot that pay the least in taxes especially when you consider how corrupt they are. Arrest all crooks at state house and probably you may earn… Read more »

I hope you Kadadzera and Mwapasa will be the officers deployed there. We dont want our police relatives to be put in danger. Besides, who told you that the communities there want police officers? They are a barracks and continue to protect themselves.

You lie Policeman kadadzera. The Nsundwe area is as peaceful as any community was under Dr. Banda. If you say no, go there now as a common man and try to steal or do something stupid. The Nsundwe battalion will catch and burn or stone you alive. You can’t dare send your men there. Mungofuna kuphetsa ana anzanu ndi usilu wanuwo. Those people are happy there without you. Even civil servants think twice before mistreating the people. They know Nsundwe battalion could come at night and sort them out. Nobody is going to build the destroyed buildings they don’t need… Read more »

Sundwe is very lawless at the moment. The narrative against Nsundwe changed when some policemen molested those ladies. It was this publicity against police that made us forget the fact that the place really needs to be handled with an iron fist the residents are to realize that they are not above the law. No one regardless of political affiliation should feel justified to act in that crazy fashion
