Police say more arrests expected in connection with Fr Mulomole robbery
Malawi Police have said they are expecting to make more arrests of suspects involved in a robbery at Zomba Diocese offices which also accommodate Public Affairs Committee (PAC) spokesperson Father Peter Mulomole.
Eastern Region police spokesperson Joseph Sauka said police have so far arrested three people suspected to have been involved in the robbery.
Sauka said the arrested suspects have given police information that may lead to more arrests.
He refused to give more details on the suspected who have been arrested.
“It is too early to divulge all the information for fear of alerting the other suspects,” he said.
Robbers went away with K2.5 million cash, computers and other office equipment.
But Sauka said two laptop computers have been recovered in the process.
The robbery took place last Wednesday, a day before Pac delivered a statement to the media in Blantyre which described the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led administration as having failed to deliver.
