Poly students support fellow needy student

Some students of the Polytechnic, a constituent college eof the University of Malawi,  are contributing funds to assist their fellow student who is financially challenged to cover her accommodation expenses and upkeep allowance.

Polytechnic students contributing to help their fellow student

The student, identified as Deborah Matchowa,  needs about K50 000 but the students had raised only K10 000.

According to one of the students who have contributed to the fund, Priscilla Kumbambe, the students decided to assist because they want her to proceed and succeed with her education.

“We never know what fate we might have tomorrow; we can’t have everything all the time. We have to help others so that they may also help us when we are in need. We believe that the Lord blesses the hand that giveth,” she said.

The needy student Matchowa, who is  18  and doing her  first year,  said: “The loans board paid my tuition fee but I have a balance of K50 000 to pay and I lack money to use for accommodation, food and transport.

“Currently, I stay in Bangwe and sometimes I miss classes since the area is far from school.”

She further thanked the Polytechnic students and everyone who had contributed to her fees so that she covers her accommodation and other necessities.

Meanwhile, a Polytechnic alumnus, Mary Mnewa has also offered her contribution for accommodation, transport and food for the girl.

And then we have DPP regime get bribed with K145m from a crooked Muslim Asain in the name of Karim just to be used as part of campaign money to stay in power, what’s that? Why not donate the money to such financially struggling young intelligent Malawians? Pathetic.

Please, Chifundo Nedi, provide authentic contact details on how some can help, I sure some will assist. But boma ili lidzipita, tatopa.
