PP appoints Mzomera Ngwira as north chair

The ruling Peoples Party has appointed controversial Reverend Mzomera Ngwira as Provisional Chairperson for the north replacing Frank Tumpale Mwenifumbo.

Ngwira served similar position when he was in DPP.

Mwenifumbo now retains his duly elected position of deputy secretary general responsible for the northern region.

Peoples Party acting Secretary General Paul Maulidi said it is the National Executive Committee’s prerogative to fill in vacant posts.

“Mwenifumbo was acting in that position,” Maulidi said.
