Joyce Banda: I will stand again
Dr. Banda was speaking on Sunday at Area 23 Police Ground in Lilongwe  where she emphasized that PP is a grassroot party hence all who want to join are free to do so.
She expressed concern over the looming hunger the country could go through this year. “It is important that all stakeholders should work together to deal with the scarcity of food in the country.
She advised the citizens that since President Lazarus Chakwera declared a State of Disaster on Saturday, then citizens have a crucial role to play to ensure that food is available in respective homes.
“It is estimated that 4.5 million people will face hunger in the country and millions more are sleeping without taking food, as it’s embarrassing as a country. We need to do better.” explained Banda.
Former president  also advised citizens to work extra harder to ensure that they feed their respective households. She referred to Kamuzu era where people were not given handouts but they had to work hard.
Banda said,”During Kamuzu era weren’t getting free food, but today it has become a habit, so let’s work together to deal with hunger.”
Peoples’ party is one of the key players in Tonse Government and joined in an alliance with MCP before nullification of 2019 general elections results by the courts.
