PP UK wing donates 200 footballs

People’s Party (PP) UK wing has donated 200 footballs worthy £2,000 (about K900, 000) to help the party distribute in the constituencies in Malawi.

The donation took place at the Grosvenor Hotel London and was received by Malawi Vice President Khumbo Kachali who is also PP second-in command.

Kachali thanked the PP UK Wing for the donation assured that the footballs “will be put in good use for the development of football in the country.”

Interim Chairperson of PP UK, Hangton Gondwe, told Nyasa Times that the donation has been made in order to promote sports amongst the youth in constituencies all over Malawi.

He said through the donation, they are complementing PP government efforts to develop sports in the country.

Gondwe told Nyasa Times that they were inspired to donate the footballs after the recent parliament sitting, Sports Minister Enock Chihana, was asked from many members to buy football in constituencies.
