Are you experiencing sudden depression? Are you having fits of rage that are unusual for you or having suicidal thoughts? Are you feeling hopeless or feeling like you are being pulled to do a wrong thing? Are you not able to do what you know is good or right? Are you hearing thoughts in your head that are negative, persuasive or commanding you to do something evil? Are you suddenly having creepy feelings or sudden unexplainable anxiety? Demonic manifestations or influence can come about in many forms and for many reasons. When they happen, they can be disruptive and likely harmful. We have to face the fact that the spiritual world does contain demonic beings. Demons are real. They want you sick, confused, fearful, angry, isolated and maybe dead. For sure, they do not want you worshiping the one true God. They do not want you in true worship to Jesus Christ, the only one through whom mankind can be saved. They are weapons of Satan, the nemesis of God and His children.
Satan is our enemy who is constantly wielding battle against us. He will use any opening given to him. The devil hates Christians and he will do anything within his power to ruin your relationship with God to exclude us from our God-given favour of salvation. It is not to his pleasure that you have a testimony of your life that glorifies the Lord. He will use anyone at any time to try to destroy and enslave you. But there is a way to evade this attack: If you become a saved Christian, the spirit that will reign in you is more powerful than anything the demonic would through against you. The Holy Spirit will pack, in you, the rightful tools of discernment and prayer to guard your life territory against the demons. To equip you for the wining battle against Satan.
My brother, my sister in the Lord, we are in a battle field where, in absence of God and His empowering, Satan is bound to take advantage of us. Why should we allow him to take an edge over us? To understand this battle, we need to begin with acknowledging that we are in war. By definition, battles involve combat between two factions or armies and they consist of any type of extended contest, struggle, or controversy. As Christians, we are in spiritual battles of some sort on a daily basis.
In warfare, battles are fought in different fronts, for different reasons, and with varying degrees of intensity. The same is true with spiritual warfare. Our spiritual battles and warfare are real, even though we cannot physically see the attacker. But we can educate ourselves on how the battles are fought and won.
Matthews 28:18 verse is not only about our salvation; it is also about our everyday victory, which adds up to our victorious living in Christ. Everyday victory is achieved by knowing, believing and understanding the battles that we are enduring daily, regardless if we are passive or active in the battles as long as we have the choice and grace of hating, and distancing ourselves away from, sin.
Sin being allowed to gain a stronghold in your life is the most common and sure ticket for demonic attack. Any Christian can come under attack by demonic forces. Any repetitive sin in your life is an opening for a demonic stronghold to take hold and become fertile ground for the devil. Honest repentance should rid a Christian of this danger. In the presence of Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ, the demonic must flee and render you free. Ephesians 1:9 says; “and the surpassing greatness of His power to us who believe. He displayed this power in the working of His mighty strength”.
If you are a saved Christian, not just a good church member Christian, you have the spiritual authority, in this God’s world, to command leave of any demonic. Pray often. Pray earnestly. Immense yourself in the word of God.
