# Prophet Mbewe to take ‘Oil of Testimonies’ crusade to Zomba
BFounder, Overseer and President of Living Word Evangelical Church (LIWEC), Prophet David Mbewe, is set to take his faith and healing ministry to Zomba on August 22, 2026, with a major religious gathering billed as “ZOMBA L’AAHG SHALOM DAY!”
The event will be held at Chinamwali Community Ground from noon and is expected to bring together worshippers from Zomba and other parts of the Eastern Region for a day of prayer, worship and what organisers describe as the receiving of the “Oil of Testimonies.”
Mbewe, who is also National Chairperson of the Freedom of Worship Association of Malawi (FOWAM), said the gathering is intended to offer believers an opportunity to seek God through prayer and worship.
“We are coming to Zomba with a message of hope, healing, remembrance and divine visitation,” Mbewe said.
He said the gathering was being organised around what the church has declared as “the Year of Our Lord Jesus of Nazareth the L’AAHG,” which he described as a season focused on healing, remembrance and divine intervention.
“This is not just about gathering people. It is about giving people an opportunity to seek the face of God, to pray and to believe God for their lives, families and communities,” Mbewe said.
The service will be held under the theme “Onse Adachilitsidwa Nakumbukiridwa ndi Atate Yahweh,” translated as “All will be healed and remembered by Father Yahweh.”
Mbewe, who is known for organising prayer and deliverance crusades, said the theme reflects his ministry’s emphasis on faith and the belief that people can turn to God in times of difficulty.
“We believe that God has not forgotten His people. There are people who have been waiting for their testimonies, people who need healing, encouragement and restoration. We want them to come and worship with us,” he said.
The programme will also feature performances and ministry by gospel musicians, with organisers expecting the music and worship sessions to form a major part of the gathering.
Mbewe said the participation of gospel musicians would help create an atmosphere in which worshippers could freely express their faith.
“Music is an important part of worship. We are bringing together ministers who will lead people into praise and worship as we seek God together,” he said.
Organisers said preparations for the event are already underway, with ushers, choir members, technical teams and musicians being mobilised ahead of the gathering.
Mbewe urged people intending to attend to approach the event with an open heart and a spirit of prayer.
“We want people to come expecting God, but also to understand that this is a time of worship. We are inviting everyone to come and be part of what we believe will be a significant day in Zomba,” he said.
As national chairperson of FOWAM, Mbewe also leads an organisation that brings together worship leaders and other Christian ministers around issues of religious freedom and unity.
The Zomba gathering therefore comes as part of Mbewe’s wider ministry activities through LIWEC, with organisers describing the event as a day of “power, music and restoration.”
The programme is scheduled to start at 12 noon on August 22 at Chinamwali Community Ground, with organisers expecting worshippers from Zomba and beyond.
