Queens in a rebuilding process
Malawi Netball Team Coach, Joanna Kachilika, has said she and members of her technical team are in the process of rebuilding the team to reclaim its lost glory.

Kachilika was speaking to journalists after announcing the final squad of fifteen players that will leave for South Africa on Monday, 28th October, 2024 for Spar International Netball Challenge Test Series.
The final squad of the fifteen players has since relocated to Blantyre from Lilongwe for another week of camp training before leaving for the rainbow nation.
“All players showed up. We were focusing on fitness and other tactics in the past two weeks. We are rebuilding this team and that is why we have a mixture of regular players and upcoming players. After looking at their strengths, we have come up with the final squad of fifteen players.
“As I have said, we are rebuilding this team and I think South Africa will help us fine-tune the team for future assignments,” explained Kachilika.
Captain of the side, Towera Vinkhumbo, said preparations have so far gone on well and hopes for a successful final week of training in Blantyre.
“I hope we will do well in South Africa. We have no excuse. Everybody is working hard and I think we can do well. It’s true that The Queens have not brought good results recently but I hope this time around, the team is capable of bringing good results,” she added.
Vice President for the Netball Association of Malawi (NAM), Lumbani Ntonyo, said she has trust in the rebuilding process.
“When rebuilding a team you still pick regular players and blend them with upcoming players. This is what we are doing at the moment and we are hoping for a smooth transition,” she said.
In South Africa, The Queens will play their matches on October 31, November 2 and November 3 at Ellis Par
