A 46 year old man Hinteregger Jurgen who was the manager for Strabag International, a German company that is constructing a 47 kilometres Mzuzu-Nkhata bay road is facing removal in the country for abusing Malawian workers, Nyasa Times understands.
Immigration and Police sources confided to Nyasa Times that Jurgen was taken to Songwe border post where authorities were waiting for removal directions before he is deported.
The 46 years old German reportedly spent a night in a police cell after the matter was reported to the district police station.
Nkhata bay police spokesperson Ignatius Easu said is all started after one of the Strabag’s drivers, Charles Devina, drove a water tanker on some metal bars and got the vehicle’s tyre to burst.
“This angered Jurgen who shouted and called me a monkey and snatched vehicle keys from me,” Esau said.
The development angered his fellow local drivers who resolved to boycott the work.
