Rapper Piksy off to Kenya as Airtel Malawi ambassador
Airtel Malawi Brand ambassodor Piksy on Monday flew to Nairobi, Kenya for a week-long visit to among others promote the company’s products through music.
Speaking on departure at Kamuzu International Airport, Piksy expressed excitement for chosing him to represent the company at its headquarters in Kenya.
“Being a youthful artist, I am very excited to carry our national flag to showcase various products which the company has through music,” he said.
Piksy real name Evance Zangazanga of Unamata fame composed Airtel Malawi Yabooka jinlge which has become popular amongst most Malawians.
The company’s Brand and Communications Manager Isabel Kachinjika said they identified him as a young talented musician who is innovative and is loved by youth in the country.
“This is part of his exposure and we hope that it will help to promote him and his music to international stages and markets,” he said.
Adding tha that the trip offers a special platform for Piksy to unleash his music talent of African Young acts.
“We hope that he will soon come out shining on the International stage,” she said.
Music offers unique medium for celebrating roots, culture and beliefs in a fun, entertaining and artistic way.
However, Airtel’s support to young talented musicians dates back to 2008 when it created the MTV Africa Music Awards to celebrate the best African contemporary music.
