Relegation dog-fight for Wizards, Epac and Rangers: Malawi TNM Super League
With only few games left to conclude this year’s TNM Super League, rookies Dedza Young Soccer and Mzuni FC have chances to remain in the top flight league should they win their remaining games.
While chances for Epac FC, Airborne Rangers and FISD Wizards to jump out of the relegation zone are very slim.
Maximum points for Wizards are 30; Epac FC 30; Airborne Rangers 31, Dedza Young Soccer 32 and Mzuni 38.
Over the weekend, Mzuni beat Epac 2-1 Wizards lost 0-1 to Tigers, while Dedza and Airborne Rangers lost 0-2 and 3-0 to Be Forward Wanderers and Red Lions respectively.
Mzuni have so far collected 29 points from 25 games, Dedza 26 points from 26 games, Airborne 25 points from 26 games, Epac 24 points from 26 games while Chilomoni based Wizards are anchoring the log table with 21 points from 25 games.
Mzuni, who just need at least two points to be assured of survival in the TNM sponsored league, will conclude with games against champions designate Big Bullets, Red Lions and Mafco FC. All away assignments.
While Dedza, who are equally remained with daunting task against Kamuzu Barracks and Epac FC, need to win their remaining games to survive the chop.
Whereas Airborne have two games against equally struggling Be Forward Wanderers and Tigers FC, respectively.
Epac FC face Dedza Young Soccer and Mafco FC, respectively, while Wizards, who will be likely the first to be shown the exit door, will conclude their campaign against Be Forward Wanderers, Bullets FC and Blue Eagles.
Champions designate Bullets have 57 points from 25, followed by military side Mafco with 47 points from 26 games.
Other teams, mainly Wanderers, Tigers, Red Lions, Moyale and Civo mainly fighting for positions on the log table and they all eyeing top six.
By December 27, each team will have played 28 games and so far 190 games have been played with 443 goals scored.
Leading on the score sheet is Innocent Bokosi of Red Lions with 13 goals. Silver striker forward Green Harawa and Civo FC’s midfielder Nelson ‘Silencer’ Kangunje boast of 12 goals each while Bullets duo of Chiukepo and Jaffalie Chande have got 11 goals each.
