“I do not take this for granted because there are many talented netballers in the country. For me to be among last twelve l am so happy that l will try my best to impress in Tanzania,” said Ngwira.

Other experienced players in the squad are Bingu Tigresses trio of Sindi ‘Sniper’ Simutowe, Grace ‘Pincord’ Mhango and Beatrice Kadango.

MTL Queens no nonsense defender Joanna Kachilika has also made it into the squad alongside Civonets centre Tina Kamzati, Joyce Mvula and Jane Chimaliro.

Saenda told Nyasa Times that the Queens are going to Tanzania to fight and grab the Cup.

“We can assure Malawians that we are going to Tanzania not on holiday but to grab the cup and maintain our number one position team in Africa. I have confidence in the squad because they are talented and hard workers,” said Saenda.

Eight countries namely host Tanzania, Zambia, Namibia, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Malawi have confirmed participation in the event.
