It’s no rumour, but about three people, and probably more, have disappeared in Lilongwe, victims of some underground movement that people link to Satanic cult.
Reports indicate a 23 year old resident in Mgona location who sat his MSCE and passed, disappeared last Sunday 9th February. He called his sister based in Dubai Area 49 and discussed issues normally.
“He called and we chatted normally, but am surprised today to learn from his guardian that he has been missing since the weekend and they thought he was with me here,” narrated his distraught sister, who added on Monday she received an sms from his cell number explaining it read he was in a jungle and did not know how he got there and how to get out.
The sms added the young man bid farewell as he was not sure he would make it back alive.
“Immediately after the number could not be reached and we have tried the whole night. We have also reported to police to help, to no avail. We have also searched everywhere possible to no avail,” she worried, adding her brother took no alcohol nor smoked nor was he a troublemaker as he is a devout Jehovas Witness christian.
Meanwhile a school girl who hitched a ride in a taxi to Matindi Private School is also said to have gone missing. Colleagues who saw her get into the car rwported to the head teacher when it was noted she had still not reported to school.
“The girls identified the car registration number and make and when it was found, the owner said he had no business with the issue and that nothing would happen to him even if the police tried to act on the matter,” said a source.
In another development a man going to work and took a minibus ended up been beaten and left for dead. The entire bus had an organised group of passengers that tried to kill him, but luckily he survived and crawled back to safety by the road side.
With the maize crop high, incidents of such nature seem to be on the increase.
