Sex not just for making children, for fun too: Malawi Chewa chief
For us humans, sex isn’t about just making babies; it can be for fun also. This is according to influential Chewa’s Senior Chief Lukwa of Kasungu.
Chief told a national population policy meeting in Lilongwe recently, making his contribution on how Malawi can arrest its increasing population, which today stands at 14 million.
The Chief has been quoted by sensation Weekend Times newspaper, advising Malawians to embrace love and love making.
“Sex can be for fun also,” Lukwa told the meeting which was to advocate for the implementation of population and development programmes.
The Chief said Malawian couples should not shy away from sex or feel ashamed of it but enjoy it.
He said sex in not about conceiving children but is also about having fun.
According to the paper, Lukwa said most villagers don’t understand why they shouldn’t have too many children
“For them, sex is the only entertainment they have and this results in children because they don’t have means to prevent this
“People need civic education to realise that sex can be for fun and not making children.”
Discussions about sex are still taboo in Malawi.
