Silver asks Sulom to dock Dwanga points for ‘fielding Mafco player’
Silver Strikers FC want to be awarded full three points from the game that they dropped two points in the TNM Super League match against Dwangwa United, accusing their opponents of illegally fielding a player who belong to Mafco FC.
Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda, general secretary of Silver Strikers, claim that Wilson Magombo has a contract with the bankers up to March 2019, but was loaned to Mafco in August.
“Silver dully cleared Magombo to play for Mafco,” said Nyirenda, adding “ we never gave any clearance to Dwangwa to use the player.”
Silver accuse the Nkhotakota based side of fielding a player who belongs to another club and in a letter dated October 2 2017, the bankers are demanding full points from Super League of Malawi (Sulom), saying Dwangwa’s point should be forferited.
However, Dwanga has dismissed the claims, saying Silver won to be winning games from the boardroom and not on the ground.
Dwagwa team amanger Davie Mwandira said Magombo joined his team as a free agent after Silver rendered him surplus to requirements.
“Magombo came here as a free agent,” said Mwandira.
Dwangwa coach Temwa Msuku also said they had a verbal agreement with Silver that the player joing his club.

To all football lovers, this claim by Silver is not true. am in the technical committee and we are too conversant with SULOM rules. DUFC is being run by well educated managers and we cant do such a thing. They never expected to drop points that’s why they have decided to do make such noise to buy sympathy
