Silver, Bullets in a battle to sign boy–wonder Khumbo Msowoya from Karonga Utd

Super League giants Silver Strikers and Nyasa Big Bullets are involved in a battle to sign  Malawi Under-20 National Football Team boy-wonder and Karonga United promising striker, Khumbo Msowoya.

Another boy-wonder: Banda

In addition to Silver and Nyasa, Premier Bet Wizards have also been mentioned as the other interested party who will look to join the race, according to published reports.

But Karonga United’s Chairperson, Alufeous Chipanga said Silver and Nyasa are planning to use their financial muscle in order to sign the boy-wonder in the transfer window.

Super League of Malawi opened the transfer window on January 1, 2017.

“As of now, the race is between Silver Strikers and Nyasa Big Bullets. We talked with the two clubs at length, but we are still waiting for a good offer,” Chipanga said.

“I also had a talk with Premier Bet Wizards’ owner Peter Mponda who also wants this player. He is our top player and he helped us a lot in the just-ended season.”

Silver’s interim General Secretary, Thabo Nyirenda, confirmed talking to Karonga over Msowoya, adding that the striker will be invited for trials.

“We are beefing up our team and one of the players on our radar is Khumbo Msowoya. He is a great talent that can help us perform in the 2017 season,” Nyirenda said.

The clubs are also seeking the signature of another boy wonder Peter Banda.
