Silver coach Chirwa demands positive response

Silver Strikers coach Stain Chirwa has said a depressing spell at his club will have to be a thing of the past and challenged his battle-weary Banker squad to look within themselves and provide a response against Civo United in the TNM Super League on Saturday in a capital city derby

The Bankers face Civo in need of a confidence boost following their 0-1 loss to Mighty Wanderers in a Standard Bank Cup finals last Saturday at the Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

“We must raise our game and forget all the woes in the Standard Bank Cup finals after losing to Wanderers. This is a total different game together,” Chirwa said.

Chirwa stressed that his squad have the strength to cope with difficult period.

Stain Chirwa: Demands reaction from players

“We are a very stable team and l do not see any problem for us to fail collect three points against Civo on Saturday. I know how strong my players are and their desire for victory,” he said.

Chirwa insists that they can defend the title.

“We are hoping to make up some ground,” he said.

However, the Bankers are aware that since Civo United roped in Oscar Kaunda as their new coach their form has improved basing on the current form.

The Civil servants were on cloud nine last Sunday when they clobbered Kamuzu Barracks 2-0 in Dedza.
