Silver dominant start tops league table, Moyale anchors

As the TNM Super League enters the fourth week this coming Sunday, two capital city giants, Silver Strikers and Civo United are chasing each other closely on the log table.

The Bankers, who will be facing much improved Kamuzu Barracks on Sunday at the Silver Stadium, are sitting comfortably on the summit table with 9 points from three games while the Civil Servants, who have a tricky assignment in Blantyre against Big Bullets, are coming second with 7 points from three games as well.

Thom Nkorongo. Silver Strikers head coach, said they cannot be complacent as the lead on the top is not a great advantage.

“We just have to take each game as it comes and keep winning,” he said.

Team of the moment, Kabwafu United is on third place with 6 points from three games followed by another newcomer in the league, Kamuzu Barracks, who have collected 6 points having played three games.

Azam Tigers, who will be tussling with Red Lions at Kalulu Stadium on Sunday, is on fifth position after gathering 6 points from three games while Red Lions is on their neck with 4 points from two games.

After going down 2-1 to Silver Strikers last Sunday, Mighty Wanderers have to recover quickly because they have to travel to Balaka to face Epac FC. T

The Nomads are on seventh place with 4 points from three games while the Salima based soldiers, Mafco FC are on their back from the same number of points and games played.

Nomads coach Franco Ndawa said Silver’s dominant start to the league season counts for nothing at this stage of the campaign.

“A season lasts for a bit longer than three games,” said Ndawa.

On position nine are Blue Eagles, who have accumulated 4 points from three games, as Big Bullets are behind them with 4 points as well from three games.

Epac FC, who are on number 11 from three games are on bye this weekend while struggling Escom United are trailing them on 12th position.

Two limping sides, Bvumbwe Research and Blantyre, who are yet to collect three points, will face each other on Sunday at Zomba Community Centre Ground.

Bvumbwe Research is on number 13 with a single point same as Blantyre United while the Kaning’ing’a soldiers Moyale Barracks are anchoring the log table with no any point from three games.
