Silver Strikers has handed Super League debutants Master Security Services a transfer blow by snatching defender Hygiene Mwandepeka from under their noses.
The Bankers have signed former Karonga United defender ahead of Master who were preparing to sign him.
“We are in need of strengthening and identified Hygiene as one of the players to sign. It’s done deal now,” said Silver Strikers General Secretary, Thabo Chakaka- Nyirenda.
“We scrutinised his contract and discovered that he has less than six weeks to the end of his contract with Karonga United. According to Fifa and Fam rules, a player who has six months or less to the end of his contract is at liberty to join another team. We signed Mwandepeka based on that,” Nyirenda said.
Karonga United officials confirmed Hygiene is on the move to the central bankers.
