About 50,000 people are expected to throng the streets of the city from the banker’s base in area 47 behind the famous Bwandiro from 09:00 hours.

The bankers drew 0-0 against Be Forward Wanderers in regulation time before emerging victorious through penalties last Saturday at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

The club’s General Secretary, Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda said the fans should expect to see the bankers in an open-top Axa Bus parading the glittering trophy through the city of Lilongwe.

“We are going to have the parade of parades; the greatest street party that Lilongwe has ever seen. We’ve got all the plans in place. It’s like Christmas day in Area 47; everyone is going around with big smiles on their faces even if they’re from other teams. It’s going to be the greatest day in Silver’s history,” said Nyirenda.

Silver’s journey in the competition started with a 1-0 victory against Nyasa Big Bullets before cruising into the semi-finals where they ousted Kamuzu Barracks 4-5 in penalties.

For being crowned the champions, the bankers received K15 million.
