Society Malawi host Cricket Academy to literature talk

As one way of championing the development of certain sporting activities, the Society of Malawi, an organization that promotes interest in literary, historical and scientific matters, is today hosting the Cricket Academy in its monthly talks.

Professor Alfred Msadala to give a talk

Vic Ek Ganesan, from Cricket Academy will present the talk at the Blantyre Sports Club from 7pm, Society of Malawi Chairperson Carl Bruessow said.

According to Ganesan, the talk will centre on the history of both the sport and the Cricket Academy, achievements, recent and upcoming events, and the 2020 strategic plan.

“I want the audience to know that Malawi sports is more than having football and netball, and that people will through the talk appreciate the positive impact Malawi Cricket is having globally and inspire the nation,” he said, adding Cricket in Malawi has come enormously far in a short space of time.

“Our goals are ambitious, but the passion, dedication, skill and experience of all those associated with The Cricket Academy and the Malawi Cricket Union; players, coaches, volunteers, staff, commercial partners, funding partners and committees, give us the confidence to reach high,” he said.

Carl Bruessow revealed that in January that the Society of Malawi hosted the president of the Amang’anja Association with a talk on Ownership of Lake Malawi while in March, the Society of Malawi will host professor of Literature, Alfred Msadala.
