Solola Builders donate K2m to Malawi engineers, accountants bodies

Solola Builders has partnered with two powerful professional bodies in Malawi, the Malawi Institute of Engineers (MIE) and Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAM). Solola  Builders has shot the two professional bodies in the arm by donating cheques worth 2 million Malawi Kwacha to each.

Presenting the cheques to the two institutions was the Board Chairperson for Solola Builders, Dr. Francis Chinjoka Gondwe, himself an acclaimed Accountant.

In making the donation, Gondwe said that it was Solola Builders wish to transform the building industry in Malawi.

He said: “Solola Builders is here to transform Malawi’s building industry and if you are serious about building, come to Solola Builders; we ensure that our products conform to the highest international Standards and we produce in record time and unbeatable quantities and quality”.

Upon receipt of the cheques, both institutions expressed their profound gratitude to Solola Builders. They both indicated that the money will go a long way in assisting towards the success of their respective annual general conferences.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of MIE was the Honorary Secretary, Engineer Francis Namonjeza; while as ICAM’s President, William Matambo, received the cheque on behalf of ICAM.

ICAM and MIE are both set to hold their annual general conferences at Sunbird Nkopola on 18-20 September and 13 – 14 October 2014 respectively.

Present at the cheque presentation ceremony, which was held at Sunbird Capital and Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe, were Council members for MIE and ICAM.

Solola Builders was represented by its Board Chairperson and other Directors namely Directors Dr. Matthews Mtumbuka and Dr. Mark Lungu as well as the General Manager, Ronnie Van Der Walt.

Operating under the theme “building the future”, Solola Builders is aiming  to transform the building industry in Malawi by supplying quality building materials, adequate enough to complete building projects within record time and guarantees long lasting structures for now and generations to come.

Solola Building Supplies (Pty) Ltd is a wholly Malawian owned company and its shareholders are Mr Paul Hastings Tembo and Mrs. Lexa Faith Tembo who have invested over 1.5million USD this far.

The builders specializes in producing environmental friendly bricks, blocks, pavers and many other building products. They have the capacity to produce adequate quantities of materials for homes, factories, shopping malls, roads, schools and many other types of infrastructure.

Among others, they have supplied products to big projects such as Gouji, Westgate Mall, Dedza Border etc

The company is named after a mountain situated 16 km’s from Mzimba Boma called Solola and is located at Guzani Village, along Bunda Road in Lilongwe, the Capital City of Malawi.

I will answer on behalf of the guy behind the venture as I personally know him. As mentioned in the article his name is Hastings Tembo and he comes from Solola in Mzimba (hence the company name). He is one of the kindest, humble and down-to-earth dudes I have ever known. For people who know him, a donation like this comes as no surprise.
