SOS for Malawi contestant at Miss Pan African Queen 2020: Trimmie seeks help 

Malawi representative at this year’s Miss Pan African Queen pageant, Trimmie Chitedze is looking for $2,050  (about K2 millio) sponsorship to fund her trip to Ghana.

The Lilongwe-based 23 year old budding model, Chitedze was voted as Malawi’s representative through an online poll in July.

 

Miss Pan African Pageant 2020 is slated to take place on 15 November in Accra.

In an interview, Chitedze said she needs a total of $2, 050, $800 for boot camp costs and $1,250 Air ticket to Ghana.

“I have so far approached Ministry of Tourism. They said they will respond to the proposals as soon as possible,” she said.

Meanwhile, Chitedze has intensified her social media campaign to raise the funds to contribute to her expenses.

Contributions can be made via Mobile Money on Mpamba 0888365645, Airtel Money 0991188678 and Standard Bank account number 9100000770830.

The deadline for all Miss Pan African Queen 2020 payments is 10th October.

Miss Pan African Queen President Trendy Isaac also appealed to respective governments and stakeholders to support their country representatives.

“We urge governments and stakeholders to support the finalists as they embark on this life changing journey that will also put their countries on the map,” Isaac said.

Trimmie looks up to Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell as her role models.

With 3 years in modelling, Trimmie has participated in events such as Miss University Africa, Miss Glam and Glory, Moto Malawi, Miss Eastern College and Miss Essence Universe.

She currently owns Okoza Photography Studio in Lilongwe.
