Standard Bank cup finals Aug 30 Lilongwe: Semi-finals results may change venue

Lilongwe football supporters have all the reason to smile as they will host Standard Bank knockout cup finals second time in a row on August 30 after hosting it again in 2013.

But the sponsrors  said the venue could be reviewed depending on the outcome of the semi-final matches.

Standard Bank’s head of marketing Chimwemwe Matonga said as sponsors they are satisfield with how the cup has been run so far and that they expect entertaining and violent free semi finals games over the weekend.

He also said the bank has lined up a number of exciting activities during the semi-finals to be played in Blantyre and Lilongwe at the weekend.

Mighty Wanderers face Silver Striker at Kamuzu Stadium while Mafco will clash with Azam Tigers at Silver  Stadium.

Meanwhile, FAM has announced gate charges for the final matches.

FAM Competitions officer Gomezgani Zakazaka said for open stands, entry fee will be K1 000 and K2 500 Covered Stands (for both Kamuzu and Silver stadiums), while for Kamuzu Stadium only, MBC Stand has been pegged at K1 500 and K5 000 for VIP.
