State withdraws criminal review in Bushiri’s extradition case

Malawi’s Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Steven Kayuni has written the High court in Lilongwe to withdraw a criminal review of unconditional release of Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary.

Bushiri: Fights extradition 

In a letter dated December 15 2020, which Nyasa Times has seen, signed by top prosecutor addressed to Judge Fiona Mwale, who is hearing the criminal review and copied to lawyer for Bushiris Wapona Kita said the State has applied for the withdrawal because the criminal review has been overtaken by the formal extradition request by South African government.

According to Kayuni, the State will now be dealing with the extradition litigation.

The High court was expected to make its ruling on December 22 2020 in the State application which was challenging the unconditional release of the Bushiris by the Principal Resident Magistrate court in the extradition case.

  9. You can tell by looking at the caliber of comments by the Bushiri worshippers and supporters. Mbuli zokha zokha, brain washed to the core. It is clear why this cult leader has to go. I remember some US pastor who doused his congregation in petrol and set fire in 1999 as he believed millenium 2000 will be the end of the world, the coming of Christ. Once a while there are these toxic self proclaimed prophets. Achina Ellen G white, Bushiri and other nonsense. If he is a true prophet he should have seen his arrest coming in advance. He walks on air, why did he have to hide dressing like a woman when he could have just walked home? He has raped, destroyed families, stole from people, lied in the name of the Lord, la 40 lakwana. On friday 12 September a major event occured in his church compound – a guesthouse he rented out to people who came from far places to attend his services – COLLAPSED! He never saw it coming! Shepard bushiri took money from gullible people like you and promised them good returns, what happened? over 100 million Rands disappeared! He was arrested, taken to court to explain what happened to the peoples money. he got bail. What happened next? the so-called prophet, holy man of god escaped! crossing borders illegally just like all criminals do!
        Nonceba if you were god, who would you send to hell, Bushiri for running away after stealing R100 million or Mbayani for pointing out the evil committed by this man?

Now if shepard was a prophet he should have foreseen that the investment he was leading people to was not going to be profitable, all the true prophets mentioned in the Bible had this ability to to fore-see/fore-tell events before they came to pass.     2. This happened in Pretoria on Wednesday 29th & Thursday 30th March 2017. The times given for delivering the money was stated as 10am to 4pm on both days. Investment amounts were strictly to be between R100,000 & R1,000,000. Investestors were promised a 50% return within 30 banking days! Cards were not accepted. The money would have to be brought in as cash or deposited into a bank account – details of which were obtainable via sms when The investor sent the word “BushiriBuzz” to an alloted line.
      Bushiri has NOT DENIED the existence of this scheme!!!!

When things were nice and rosy in SA Bushiri never pictures himself being in Malawi, he invested most of his wealth in SA, i remember in one of his semons saying he was not going anywhere even if they persecuted, him he was ready to go to jail for preaching the gospel.. Some of the issues levelled against the man of God are serious issues, like luring his church members to invest in his business schemes in return for a lucrative gain and then after investing realise nothing, is it of any glory to God if you are not a blind follower?
            Some of us who love Bushiri and are awakened to these clandestine activities are tight lipped and shocked; just praying to God to have mercy on him but can not deny the fact that he went wrong in some of the accusations.

            Mercy from above for Bushiri is what we need, not trying to defend obvious deceitful undertakings. I rest here.

  19. This is what had been said last time that South Africa is not following the rules to extradite someone, there is too much hurry than following all the procedures. At first they considered themselves to much better than any other African Country.We dont really know may be because of good economy forgetting that it came to that status due to enormous minerals set up by the white rule.

    2. Malawi authorities jumped the gun. South Africa only sent the request to Malawi about a week or two ago.

      As soon as they (Bushiris) didn’t show up at court an Interpol warrant of arrest was activated together with a red alert days later. The Malawi authorities moved on the warrant of arrest issued by Interpol.

    They know exactly that Bushiri in south Africa was prosecuted by white minority and not persecuted . Now all 4 countries ie South Africa, Zimbabwe , Mozambique and Malawi staged his escape .

    Bushiri did not escape but travelled on each country I have mentioned on VIP command. It was all from above to let him go in each country he had passed.

    Bushiri is a Public figure and there is no way he could escape South Africa and going through 3 countries without tracing him.
    Only myopic people could believe this not me.
    That’s why am saying Bushiri is in Malawi to stay and believe it or not but Bushiri won’t be extradited to South Africa.

  22. Whatsoever happens, one thing I know when you are in court it’s all about evidence. If in South Africa the HAWKS, and the prosecution team were not ready with evidence for two years. I don’t believe this time around they are ready. Maybe they are doing it out of shy for fear of being exposed that they were really persecuting our son of the soil bushiri.

    Now the battle has started! Time has come for South Africa to be exposed.

    1. The Hawks investigate and present the case to the prosecutor for prosecution. Now that’s clear, the case was deemed a cold one as he was alleged to have bribed the investigating officer with about R500k and last week that cop was arrested.

      Now what I can tell you is that with this process he will live like a rabbit forever looking over his shoulder and he can’t move as freely as he would like to outside Malawi with 194 countries being Interpol member states.

      Please go ahead and expose South Africa :).
