Stop colonising African economic assets, Chakwera tells West

Malawi President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has told Western governments to stop colonising African economic assets and financial systems.

Chakwera has also discouraged African leaders from stashing corrupt proceeds in Western banks and to prosecute western citizens that aid corruption in Africa.

He made the remarks a short while ago at the Strategic Dialogue on Health organised by Foundation S and The Africa Europe Foundation and Democracy Delivers by USAID.

The Strategic Dialogue on Health convened Heads of State and Governments to discuss how they must support communities to adapt to climate risks that affect health systems functionality and health service delivery.

Chakwera said being someone with fresh memories of how effects of climate change affects health systems, he decided to advise global policymakers to improve early warning and response systems, enhance healthcare infrastructure, amplify community voices on climate action and transition to cleaner energy sources.

At the USAID event, the Malawi Head of State raised strong concern and displeasure at the increased erosion of constitutionalism in some parts of Africa where non-sanctioned elements are snatching power from democratically-elected leadership.

  1. Yes I want to comment on Mr President for the good job he is doing but Mr President he is forgot about something small. There were and they are and they will until the time of planting cassava(died), the elderly people are suffering in all directions. They are accused of being witches let that beside mostly what I have corcened a lot it’s about how they can survive from our deadly enemy (hunger)? Now food is cost at higher than we thought that will change in lives on the recently presidential election. Mr President please you must have time to engage with the poor people and you’ll understand how the Malawian 🇲🇼🇲🇼 are suffering outside the state house. Go and see in the milling centers (mzigayo) you’ll likely drop your tears off.

Mr President I think if you can do something which can help these olds ones permanently it can be better than just giving them hopefully that things will change.

It’s my opinion please NYASA TIMES if it is possible bring it to Mr President.
    Thanks for your attention.

  2. Mr president you’re trying your best to tell these war mongers the right way of doing things but they are not listening .I have a plan how you can go around this unjust and unfairness. At the moment I am looking for platform where I can put this information which you can use to transform things.
