Strange wild animal attacks school in Mzimba: Bites one female student
Police identified the injured victim as Violet Nkhata, a Form 2 student and aged 16.
According to a police report, girls at the school were sleeping in their respective hostels until midnight when Nkhata felt a strong bite on her left leg.
Upon waking up, she discovered that a dog like animal had entered inside her mosquito net. This prompted her to start shouting for help.
The rest of the girls thereafter woke up and in fear squeezed themselves to a corner as the beast kept on biting at anything close to it including wood beds.
The Headmaster Moses Manda later called police for help and successfully managed to kill the animal.
The victim was later taken to hospital while in stable condition for further examination where she was also treated as an out-patient.
The beast was taken to police awaiting officials from the department of Parks and Wildlife for identification and disponsession.
The owners of the school should consider building a wall fence and ensure the hostels have door which are lockable.
The girl or girls shound get rabies vaccine because the fox might have rabies.

That’s a retarded hyna, don’t just treat the bite wound with iodine idiots give her rabies treatment. If you don’t have it which is most likely since capital hill swindles money everyday meant for that then send her to the nearest referral hospital. Give this poor nation feedback on what u have done to her before rabies spreads to the whole school then to the rest of their families and friends.
Very sorry ! Please get the right medication immediately.
This animal came from DPP we know it
So the hostels don’t have doors? The female students are not safe.Next time you will hear that they have been raped. Something needs to be done urgently at this school.Someone is sleeping on the job.
The behavior of the animal is consistent with rabies signs. The student should urgently be referred to the hospital for further management Rabies kills if not well managed
Chinyamacho chikhoza kukhala cha chiwewe. Please the student shud be given rabies medication now
Agree and infact the whole school and surrounding villages should receive Rabies Vaccine – ever wondered why such things occur when we’re drawing close to National and Football (FAM) elections??
