Sulumba remains a Nomad, not joining Nyasa Bullets – Rashy

Mighty Be Forward Wanderers board chairperson Rashid Gaffar has intervened in striker Muhamad Sulumba’s saga following news that he was unveiled at Nyasa Big Bullets.

Sulumba was one of the players Nyasa Big Bullets unveiled during their sponsorship signing ceremony with Nyasa Manufacturing Company in Blantyre.

This development raised panic at Lali Lubani road, as supporters feared they were on the brink of losing the hit man.

However, Nyasa Times understands that Gaffar met Sulumba where the player revealed that he did not sign any papers with Bullets.

On Saturday, during the Nomads executive committee polls, Gaffar assured Wanderers family that Sulumba was not moving to any team.

“Sulumba is our player and do not panic. Wanderers is a big club and no team can just come to snatch him away from us,” said Gaffar.

The business tycoon also revealed to the audience that he had a meeting with all Wanderers players on Friday where he briefed them on a number of issues like their welfare.

“Come this season we do not want to see a supporter stealing money in gates intending to go into our players pockets. We want our players to enjoy and live a comfortable life. These boys deserve to build their own houses from football money,” said Gaffar.

During the elections, Gaffar splashed K100,000 cash handout  to the players who were available just to share among themselves.

He also took time to unveil former Silver Strikers striker Peter Wadabwa, stressing the Nomads are aiming high this season.

“I am challenging you people that this season Wanderers will be back to its best. We have one of the best squad in the league and no any other team can stop us from winning anything,” said Gaffar.
