Super League of Malawi dismisses league play off rumours
Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has dismissed reports that there will be play off games among the teams that finished at the bottom of the league table to decide which teams are to be relegated.
Sulom General Secretary Williams Banda said their constitution unchanged and its rules and regulations are to be followed.
According to Banda, Article 15 of Sulom Rules and Regulations clearly states that at the end of every super league soccer season, three bottom placed teams are supposed to be relegated and three top premier division teams from all the three regions of Malawi gets automatic promotion into the top flight league.
“The rules haven’t changed and let me advise everyone including reporters to always look at what the laws are saying” said Banda.
Banda said they will make an official announcement on teams that have been relegated and promoted by 31st January, 2016.
Meanwhile, Sulom has announced that the 2016 transfer window opens on 14th January, 2016 and will run up until 30th March, 2016.
Both clubs and players have been reminded to follow proper procedurers when handling transfer issues.
